Shanties’ Pearl19 July 2017 Go back
Some would say that there is nothing more fitting than to celebrate 30-years of marriage on the beautifully breath-taking Society Island of Huahine in French Polynesia.
Well that’s exactly what happened for Dobra and Jacek Reschke, who are not only fulfilling their ambition of circumnavigating the globe on-board their Oyster 56 Shanties but who also honoured their Pearl Wedding Anniversary with a unique celebration the ‘Oyster way’!
After their dream wedding at Liverpool Cathedral in 1987, the happy couple realised a further romantic wish of honouring their special day in one of Polynesia’s best-kept secrets.
Their perfectly timed anniversary in the ‘Garden of Eden’ was celebrated in the company of their Oyster friends on the palm-fringed shores of Baie d’Avea. With its lush forests, untamed landscape, quaint villages and crystal-clear lagoon, Huahine offered a genuine taste of culture and formed the most idyllic setting for the Polish couple’s celebrations.
Capturing the colour of the azure waters, the bride looked stunning in turquoise. Adorned also with symbols of love of perfumed gardenia, bougainvillea and orchid leis on her head and shoulders.
Party guests were given a colourful lei to wear round their necks – a true sign of friendship. And dancing to local sounds on the soft white sand beach continued way into the night, with Jacek’s rum concoctions ensuring a few sore heads in the morning.
Many congratulations to Dobra & Jacek from your Oyster friends and family!
The ruby will take a lot to top this pearl…
